Greening

The Bearpit is an unusual oasis of calm in an otherwise built up city centre. Since the BIG has been working its magic, we have made it that little bit greener. The usually barren and overgrown hexagonal planters have been leased out to local businesses one by one as urban allotments. The short grass by the gents toilets was once a meadow of poppies and english wildflowers. Now the wonderful guys at Groundwork have worked at getting us a grant to help us achieve our long term aims for the space. These are to create a haven for insects and wildlife through planting native plants and providing suitable habitat.

If you want to get involved with greening the space, wether it’s helping us plan eco systems or just a bit of digging then email (insert email address here).
